What Happens During a Hypnotherapy Session

A hypnotherapy session is a guided, focused process designed to access the subconscious mind and create lasting change. Here’s what typically happens during each session:

Initial consultation and Pre-Talk

We discussed how you want to feel when you leave the office and we customize the session accordingly.

Induction Relaxation

You’re guided through simple focus on breathe and heartbeat to calm your nervous system and get you focused on your power and control.

Hypnotic Induction

Using verbal cues and pacing and leading, where we gently lead your mind into a deeply relaxed, receptive state.

Suggestions and Visualization

Using a wide variety of protocols from : NLP, Ericson Hypnosis, Direct Suggestion, Hypnosis, etc or whatever is appropriate to create a desired result

Reorientation and Grounding

You’re gradually brought back to full awareness, feeling alert, calm, and in control.

Post session integration

I checked the work to make sure the client responds that they have accomplished what they came to accomplish! Then I future pace them with a suggestion that they carry that accomplishment with them as they walk into more of that with each step.

  • What should I bring to the session?

    You should be seated in a chair with a high back for neck support (preferably). You should be removed from others  and away from TV's and radios in a quiet room undisturbed.

  • Is there a specific way for me to be seated...

    Not at all. You can sit on the floor, or in a chair —whatever posture supports stillness without strain. Michael will guide you to adjust based on your comfort, so you won’t be expected to “look” a certain way.

  • Can I participate virtually?

    Yes, you can join from home, office or even your car  via Zoom    Choose a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed, and use a laptop, tablet, or phone with good audio. Headphones help block out external noise for a more immersive experience.

  • How long are meditation sessions?

    Sessions are usually 45 minutes. They begin with  instruction, followed by a guided meditation— using  HypnoMeditation™—and close with a short period of integration or quiet reflection. No prior experience is required however, it is preferred that one listens to the instructions for HypnoMeditation before participating in the meditation.
